Ok so here is the deal with me. I seriously believe I was born in the wrong generation. Imagine me in the 70's... where music was actually good, the rules were loose, & fashion was free (not like free free, but like tom petty free)- this might help explain me a bit more.
As much as I love my sky high heels and flirty dresses, I am most me in an arm full of bracelets and a random mix of various clothing items. I find myself sometimes conflicted with my generation misplacement and my obsessive fashion interest- I'm part hippie, part fashionista. To say it best, my style is undefinable- I dress for the day, the occasion, my mood- for whatever I want. I never repeat an outfit because everyday is different than the last.
When I walked into Rowe boutique this week, (another incredible store in Columbus, and the first store I can confidently say started the fashion scene in the short north), I fell in love with this flannel and graphic tee. The flannel, by Rails, felt like heaven wrapped around my body and the blog tee was just too adorable to pass up. Both items are wearable and versatile- once again my mind goes crazy with the unlimited wardrobing options in my closet.
The flannel is a total throw back- we all know fashion repeats itself. It is loose, free and can be worn in so many other ways. Here it is worn as an overlay, but I could button it up and wear it as a tunic with skinnies or knot it 90's style with a skirt (see how Rowe styled it here). I tucked in the thin tee to give my waist some definition, but this too can be worn oversized. I topped the look off with a leopard (meow) belt and stack of jewels. I paired ankle boots with the outfit to keep it clean; anything else could make it look too grunge or sloppy.
"i'm not trying to 'cause a big sensation... i'm just talking bout my generation"- the who
Cheers trend lovers,
