Animal print on trend? Um... when wasn't it on trend? Season after season we here people saying "animal print is in!" like it is a brand new thing every 4 months. Its the same print, same animal- just a different interpretation each season.
leopard legs are my favorite (also worn here)- I love that they provide the comfort of a jean but add a fun and funky touch. This outfit would otherwise be pretty plain jane without the pant. I kept the color palette pretty neutral in this look for an earthy vibe, and threw on my favorite boots that I got in Amsterdam. These boots have seen a lot throughout the years (especially in Amsterdam) but they are super comfortable and rustic.
Since its getting a bit chillier I layered the look with a silver skeleton back Enza Costa sweater so that the bronze knit was seen from both the front and back of the outfit. The sweater also makes part of the pant stand out. I topped it off with an owl belt to complete the look- the medallion has all the colors of the outfit so it really pulls it all together with just that simple accessory.
When wearing animal print:
(1) only wear one animal. There's a reason they are in separate cages at the zoo.
(2) tone it down! Make sure to always wear colors that compliment that animal.
(2) If you wear a neon or vibrant color with your print- stick to ONE. If you get too many colors involved it start to look tacky.
So although animal print is a thing of the past, the present and i'm assuming the future- keep it simple, clean & find different ways to mix it up. It's all about interpretation.
Cheers trend lovers,
xx
