Like organizing anything in your closet the key is to make sure your jewels are visible and easy to get to. You don't want everything put away- because then you forget about it, but you don't want it all on display- because this looks messy and overwhelming.
(1) First separate your jewelry in to two different categories. a) Jewelry you wear often b) special occasion jewels
(2) Within those categories separate by item. rings, bracelets, necklaces should all have a separate home.
(3) I keep the jewelry I wear most on the same tray. It is still separated but I know where everything is on those days i'm running late and it's easy to stack and go.
(4) All of my oversized/bib necklaces go in a small mirrored lingerie chest. They are too bulky to lay in a tray or to have on display.
(5) If you have stacks of bangles- get a large glass jar to put them in. You can tie the groups together with ribbon if you choose- but i'm always mixing mine up anyways so they all live together.
(6) Keep special occasion jewelry in a tray with a lid. This way they are safe and clean. If you prefer to keep jewelry in their dust bags thats great too- get a shallow tray to line them up in.
(7) You want it to be functional and fun. Play around with it! Get a cute porcelain bowl for your rings or a silver tree stand for your bracelets.
{ I have bird cages hanging in my dressing room so all of my earrings hook on to them. This is not only a great way for me to see everything I have, but it gives my room a boutique vibe so I feel like i'm always shopping for jewels in my closet. }
(8) Go Shopping! Do you have all the basics? small diamond studs, black chandelier earrings, an everyday watch? Fill in the gaps for those must have staple items
Cheers trend lovers,
xx
