Mixing prints can be a bold fashion move to attempt. There are defiantly varying levels of mixing prints- It can be as low key as a striped shirt paired with a lace skirt or as cray-cray as a metallic snakeskin peplum top mixed with a zebra printed pant.
this outfit is a fairly subtle way to get the look without getting too aggressive. I mixed a soft striped henley tee with a pair of light grey leopard pants as a base. The two pieces are both neutrals so they blend well together. I added the flowy black vest and a tan calfskin belt to break up the two prints and a little extra somethin somethin. I topped the look with a feather printed scarf that ties in all the colors of the outfit and makes it look cohesive.
The neutral shoe, leather clutch and leather cuff are embellishments that pull the look together to make it head to toe complete and wearable.
When mixing prints & patterns:
1. One of the prints needs to be on a smaller scale than the other- or else the look will be too busy
2. Back to basic color knowledge of complimentary colors- stay within the same color family when mixing and matching- it's easier on the eye.
3. space the patterns out. Don't be afraid to get a little funky with your mix and match but a belt or solid vest can break the pattern up and de clutter the clashing prints.
