As I was styling a client last night for a dinner party I couldn't help but notice all of the fantastic black staple pieces she had in her closet.  You can never go wrong with those items that you find yourself gravitating towards time after time.  

She wanted to wear one of her black blazers- and I agreed because it was legit made for her (like the twerk was made for Miley).. destiny, right?

Anyways, I didn't want her to be just another pretty girl wearing an outfit in a sea full of other pretty girls wearing whatever-- I wanted her to look like the bad a** fancy pants she is.

After styling her outfit last night I was inspired to do a post about black & cobalt.  Always a classic look but with just enough edge.  When styling with these two colors: 

1.keep it simple
2.don't try to hard (people can tell.. it's aggressive and doesn't photograph well)

3.drink champagne (do this step when styling with any color combo)
